About

A FREE poetry and zine-making workshop exploring the glassmaking legacy of the Chance Brothers!

Discover the fascinating history of the Chance Brothers of Smethwick, from the Crystal Palace to lighthouse lenses sent around the world, and write poetry about their work.

In this FREE creative workshop, we'll explore Sandwell Archives' collections, create poems inspired by glass, light and industry, and transform our words into handmade zines using archival photographs, drawings, and collage.

Facilitated by Sandwell-based artist Abigail Villarroel (IG @abigailvillarroel.art).

Open to all, no experience needed, with plenty of materials provided. Book using the QR code or show up on the day.
