Join us for a host of holiday activities with a past, present and future theme this summer at Bromwich Hall as we celebrate this fantastic building. 

History Helpers: Wednesday 22 July, 11am-3pm. Make a clay tile inspired by our witch marks and chapel floor. Draw cave paintings and have a go at being a builder. Follow two trails and learn about the restoration works and pesky pests! Suitable for all ages. Drop in, no need to book. £1 to make a tile.

National Play Day with Go Play: Monday 3 August, 12pm-4pm. Celebrate National Play Day in our grounds with sports, carnival games and inflatables. The house will be open for crafts and a trail. Tearoom open, or bring a picnic to enjoy outside. All ages welcome, no need to book.

Around the World: Tuesday 4 August, 11am-3pm. Enjoy sports including badminton, archery and table tennis in the grounds and learn where these games come from. Follow our trail to learn which jobs could take you around the world. Test your flag knowledge with our match games. Suitable for ages 4+, free entry, just drop in.

Nature and Natural Arty Fun. Hipkiss & Grainey outdoor workshops: Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 August, 11am-3pm. Explore the natural world through visual arts, crafts and words using recycled materials and natural environmentally friendly paints with local artists Hipkiss & Grainey. Book via Ticketsource, places cost £1.50 per participant, all ages welcome.

Army Takeover Days: Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 August, 11am-3pm. The sessions at 11am are for 7-11 year olds; the 1.00pm sessions are for 12-17 year olds. The Army are back with archery tag, batak walls, team-building games and activities – gain new skills and make new friends! Learn from soldiers about humanitarian missions and find out where a career in the Army can take you. Entry is free but booking is required via Ticketsource.

Santa in the Summer: Saturday 15 August, 11am-3.30pm. Santa is here to check if you have been trying your best to stay on the good list! Tickets are £4.50 which includes a small present. £1 for crafts. We would suggest no more than two accompanying adults per booking. Suitable for ages 3+. Booking essential via Ticketsource.

We Forest Folk with Ampersand Projects: Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August – two bookable sessions per date, 10.30am-12pm & 1pm-2.30pm. This summer, we invite families to discover the magic of nature. In the beautiful grounds of Bromwich Hall, families can swing in hammocks, build dens, splash in the mud kitchen, and share stories and snacks around the campfire. Each session offers a new adventure, with hands-on activities like willow weaving, wild clay sculpting, junk modelling and woodcraft projects. Sessions are open to all children ages 1- 11 years, tickets on a ‘pay what you can’ basis. Space is limited, so booking is essential via Ticketsource.

The Lonely Robot - A Heart‑Warming Mystery for Young Explorers: Monday 24 August, session timings TBC. A strange little robot has arrived… and he’s feeling very lonely. No one knows where he came from, why he’s sad, or what he needs to feel at home again. In this playful session, children become robot‑researchers, following clues, solving puzzles, and discovering the story behind their metallic visitor. Working together, they’ll uncover what makes the robot lonely - and decide how they can help him feel understood, welcomed, and full of beeps and joy once more.

A gentle adventure about friendship, teamwork, and the power of kindness. Tickets cost £4 per child. Adults accompany free. Booking essential via Ticketsource.

Nature Day: Tuesday 25 August, 11am-3pm. Join SandNats for a host of nature activities including moth trapping and pond-dipping to find exciting creatures in our moat. Explore our green space through senses and mindful creative activities with Wonder in Nature. All ages welcome, free entry, just drop in.
