About

Lee Child to Appear at Sandwell Libraries Literature Festival

Renowned author Lee Child, creator of the iconic Jack Reacher series, will be joining us at the Sandwell Libraries Literature Festival to share unique insights into his extraordinary writing journey.

Lee Child’s first-ever autobiographical collection of essays offers an intimate look behind the scenes of the Reacher phenomenon — from that very first chapter written at his dining table on September 5th 1994, to decades of bestselling novels and blockbuster adaptations. Through 24 candid, witty, and insightful reflections, Lee reveals the creative process, personal moments, and historical events that shaped his work, including his experiences with technology, fan encounters, and writing through pivotal times.

A native of the West Midlands, Lee shares, “I grew up just a few miles from the Central Library in West Bromwich, and I’m thrilled to be invited back to help support and celebrate Sandwell’s community efforts. It’s a great place, and I look forward to seeing you there!”
Join us for an inspiring session with Lee Child as he discusses his life, career, and the stories behind one of the most compelling characters in contemporary fiction.
