BIRMINGHAM JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL AT SANDWELL MUSEUMS.
We are excited to once again be hosting live music for FREE as part of the Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival 2026.
*Wednesbury Museum, Playing Django, Friday 24th July. 7.30pm. Playing Django are a Birmingham-based gypsy jazz and swing band dedicated to the musical style of the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Heavily influenced by the legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, their repertoire captures the authentic, upbeat sound of 1930s and 40s Parisian jazz
*Wednesbury Museum, Jump, Jive & Wail, Saturday 25th 12pm. The Jump & Wail Big Band perform with lashings of style and bags of energy, breathing new life into the classic hits of the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, from swing and jive to rock’n’roll and soul. The band deliver an uptempo, feel good show, recreating the vintage sounds of the past and bringing them into the present with their own unique twist.
*Haden Hill House - Slide Boy Roy. Sunday 26th July -2pm. Slide Boy Roy is a blues and a roots rock n roll band and Slide is also a guitar player (outdoor gig bring a picnic blanket or picnic chair)
*Bromwich Hall. The Sax Pistols - Friday 31st July. 7.30pm. The Sax Pistols are an eight-piece, British-based brass band that blends the New Orleans marching band tradition with British musical hall styles. They perform lively, funky, and jazzy renditions of pop, rock, and sing-along hits
*Bromwich Hall. Florence Joelle. Saturday 1st August 12pm. Florence Joelle is a Paris-born singer, songwriter, harmonica player, recording artist and jazz specialist based in London. Her work is a Franco-Anglo blend of Latin and classic jazz, vintage and contemporary blues, gypsy folk, fifties R&B and Parisian torch song.
*Oak House - Stuart Maxwell’s Blues Raiders. Sunday 2nd August. 12pm. (Outdoor gig). Stuart Maxwell's Blues Raiders is a UK-based blues band led by Stuart Maxwell, one of the most respected harmonica players and vocalists in the British blues scene. The band delivers a hard-edged, funky blend of traditional Chicago-style blues, R&B, and rock. Their energetic sets feature covers of legends like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and The Allman Brothers, mixed with their own original songs
to add an item to your Itinerary basket.
