About

Saturday 30th May 11am-2pm.

Join us at Wednesbury Museum for a day of Anglo-Saxon adventures with the Thegns of Mercia.

This event is brilliant if you have been studying the Saxons at school or you just love this period or want to learn more!

The Thegns of Mercia are a living history group representing and exploring the ‘Anglo-Saxon' Period and its various cultures in Britain, promoting interest and engagement with this part of our past through archaeological reproduction of real Saxon items and living history.

See costumed characters, weapons, jewellery, and enjoy demonstrations and living history.

You can also enjoy the Saxon craft activities and trails for young visitors.

Entrance to the event is free but a small charge for making things to take home £1-£3 depending what you do.

Please note this is an indoor event at Wednesbury Museum. There is a pay and display car park next to the museum
