This year we are doing things differently at Bromwich Hall. We are having a number of seasons of open days and historical activities to give visitors more opportunity to explore our house, stories and histories at different times of day and on different days. Of course we continue to have events and activities throughout the year.

Open day with introductory talk: Tuesday 9 September. Open 11am - 2pm, introductory talk in the hall starts at 12pm then explore the house on your own. Tea room open, just drop in.
Bromwich Hall Alive – Medieval Mayhem and historical encampment: Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. Both days open 11am – 4pm. Visit this beautiful medieval building, once the home of the Lords of the Manor of West Bromwich, and step back 600 years to see it come alive with Buckingham's Retinue historical group with our medieval encampment and family activities. Free entry, just drop in. Tea room open. Small charges for crafts apply.
Open day with introductory talks: Tuesday 16 September. Museum open 12pm – 4pm with introductory talks at 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Explore the house and follow our Medieval myth busting trail. Tea room open, just drop in.
Tour and Talk with Dr. Mike Hodder: Wednesday 17 September, 10.30am start. Join former borough archaeologist Dr Mike Hodder as he dives into the history of Bromwich Hall and medieval West Bromwich in this tour and talk. Tickets are free but places must be reserved. Free-flow open day: Tuesday 23 September, 11am – 2pm. Explore the museum at your own pace. Tea room open. Free entry, just drop in.
Guided tour: Tuesday 23 September, 2pm. Discover this amazing medieval survival dating from the 1270s and once the home of the Lords of the Manor of West Bromwich. Book your place via Ticketsource, tickets cost £2.50 which includes a hot drink.
Dark History of the Victorian Era: Friday 26 September, 7pm start. Join Professor Black for an evening of bizarre practices from the Victorian era! Your clothing could injure you, your wallpaper might be toxic and your makeup could even be poisonous. Imagine getting executed for stealing a fish, being buried alive by mistake, or posing for a photo with a ghost! Booking is essential via Ticketsource, £4.00 per person. This talk is suitable for over 18s.

West Bromwich in Old Photographs: Thursday 2nd October, 11:30am start. Join Sandwell Archives Outreach Officer Maureen Waldron as she takes a nostalgic tour around West Bromwich looking at old photos from Sandwell Archives collection. Free entry, book your place via Ticketsource or ring site on 0121 588 2985.
Medieval paint workshop: Saturday 18 October, 10am – 3pm. Join our medieval paint expert for a costumed talk and hands-on workshop. Make your own paints from historic pigments and take them home in beautiful shell holders. £10 per person, which includes one free hot drink. Suitable for over 18s, booking essential via Ticketsource.
