Myths and Legends at Half Term
The Bromwich Hall Guide to Magical Creatures & Where to Find Them: Tuesday 26 May, sessions at 11.15am and 1.00pm. Calling all young adventurers! Step onto the grounds of Bromwich Hall and help us search every nook and cranny for friendly magical creatures hiding in the trees and secret corners. Expect hands-on crafts and a sparkling treasure hunt around the grounds. A perfect day of imagination, discovery, and a little bit of magic. Suitable for ages 6+. Tickets cost £4, booking essential via Ticketsource. Please note the house will not be open to visitors, this is an outdoors activity so please wear sensible clothing and footwear.
Nature Day: Thursday 28 May, 11am – 3pm. Join SandNats for a host of nature activities including pond-dipping to find exciting creatures in our moat. Learn about folklore in nature and enjoy led walks in the grounds with Wonder in Nature. Go Play are here with outdoor games and activities. Suitable for all ages, no booking required.
Join us in the grounds: Friday 29 May, 11am – 3pm. Enjoy a relaxing day in our grounds with outdoor games, find our fairy houses, and follow the trail.
History Lovers' Season. 13-31 July. Join us for a season of open days, and events allowing visitors to explore and enjoy the history of this fabulous house. More details to follow

Sandwell Stanzas Open Mic Nights 2026- DK Poetry from AcessAbility Arts: Friday 29 May 6:30pm
DK is a slam-winning poet, music producer and passionate advocate for accessibility and inclusion in the arts. DK is from the West Midlands

HADEN OLD HALL OPEN DAYS
Haden Old Hall was the original house built on Haden Hill; often called the Tudor Hall but it is neither Tudor or a Hall. Haden Old Hall is in fact the smart home of the middle sort Haden family built in the later 1600s as the family wealth and status grew locally. It has had a chequered history and has been restored many times.

Halesowen College 2nd Year Dance Students present ‘House of Horror’. Tuesday 12 May 3pm. You are invited to step into a world of imagination and supernatural history where the dancers will bring to life the legends of Haden Hill trough an immersive dance performance. “Even in its earliest years Haden Hill was never truly quiet…The sounds of the ghost kids, as locals came to call them, were said to be echoes of those who once lived and died on the hill…”
Please note that the performances will be filmed, this will only be of the performers not the audience but please be aware and mindful of this.
This is a free performance, no need to book.
Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery
Wednesbury World of Craft ‘Second time Around’. Exhibition and Workshops. Saturday 23 May 11am – 3pm, exhibition ongoing until October 2026. We are delighted to welcome back Wednesbury Creative Network for a day of fantastic creativity with a focus on recycling and reusing. Watch demonstrations, explore exhibitions and displays and learn new skills at a bookable workshop. This event is organised by Wednesbury Creative Network, supported by Sandwell Museums and is for all ages.
Main entry and children’s craft free. No need to book.

Anglo Saxon Week - Myths and Legends at Half Term
Wednesday 27 May & Thursday 28 May 11am – 3pm
Join us at the Museum and Art Gallery as we travel back to the Saxon era. Design and make Saxon brooches, shields, swords and crowns. Enjoy our Saxon grave goods activity and trail.

Saxon Takeover Day. Saturday 30 May 11am – 2pm. Free Entry
Step back in time with costume characters from Thegns of Mercia as they takeover the Museum and Art Gallery. See the display of reconstructed Saxon items including jewellery, warrior gear and the Staffordshire Hoard. Also enjoy craft and music demonstrations throughout the day.

Ideal For All support the independence of disabled people living in Sandwell. These groups are an opportunity to have some social time with others in a similar situation to yourself. We run a coffee morning every week at Oak House for anyone who would like to catch up with old friends and make new ones. A friendly atmosphere where you will be welcomed with tea/coffee, biscuits and a smile. Free Entry.
Little Acorns Breastfeeding Network infant feeding drop-in support session.
Every Wednesday 12.30pm – 2pm (excluding half terms).
Drop-in support group creating a free, safe space for parents to meet other parents, ask questions and access evidence-based information on all aspects of breastfeeding/chest feeding and infant feeding for babies of all ages. Contact 07505 775377 for more information. Free Entry.

Every Wednesday 10:00-12.30pm
Bring your knitting and crochet projects or anything else you may be working on! We will also explore different natural arts and activities to help with feelings of calmness and creativity! Open to all ages, everyone welcome. £1.00. No need to book.
Green Man Celebration:
Sunday 17 May 11:am-4pm
Celebrate with us at our annual Green Man event with historical music from Diabolus. Join in with the Sedgley Morris dancers, have a go at Tudor dancing with Gloriana and join in our parade with the Dhol Drummers to welcome spring with the green man himself! Lots of fun, games and activities for all ages. Enjoy refreshments in our tearoom and relax in our lovely grounds. House open to explore, Free entry, drop in, no booking required.
