ibis styles Birmingham Hagley Rd

About

Ideally situated off the Hagley Road, the ibis Styles Birmingham City Hagley Road has recently undergone a full refurbishment to offer contemporary and comfortable rooms with beautifully finished en-suite bathrooms. The hotel offers ample car parking, large reception area with coffee shop, breakfast lounge, conference and meeting rooms as well as restaurant and bar.

The inspiration

Throughout history, Birmingham has manufactured buttons, cutlery, weapons, tools and even jewellery. Craftsmanship, trade and manual skills made the city famous and shaped its simple and unpretentious charm. The factories and workshops are also a big part of the hotel's inspiration with factory benches and tools of hard work that immerse you in a rough and ready world of years gone by, but also combine to create a distinctly modern feel.

The design

At ibis Styles Birmingham Hagley Road, the city's manufacturing past runs through every room and space. Our designer has used bare metals, distressed wood and exposed concrete to great effect, and complemented these with a wonderful collection of coloured and patterned textiles. The furniture includes original factory pieces, carefully restored, and modern interpretations of industrial style, with dramatic metal hanging lamps, Chesterfield sofas and vintage laboratory stools. As a finishing touch, the walls and textiles celebrate Birmingham's architecture and cityscapes with colourful geometric prints by local designer, Brumhaus.

The experience

Run your fingers over weathered wood and smooth concrete before sinking deep into a vintage sofa, the leather softened by the years. Sit back with a drink, there'll be no clocking in early or toiling in the smoke for you during your stay. If you fancy some excitement, go bargain-hunting in the bustling Rag Market or pick up some designer clothing at Bullring shopping centre, before retreating back to our comfortable lounge to enjoy the dramatic architectural artwork adorning the walls, softly lit by an industrial pendant lamp.
